One of our projects from a few years ago. The amalgamation of two home units into one luxurious apartment and incorporating a stunning make-over to this breathtakingly situated residence in the process. With a very limited construction schedule, Wayne, Torrin, Dane and the team were commissioned with completing this highly detailed and structurally challenging project over a 7-8 week period from mid December 2011 to mid February 2012. Yes, that's right... 7 to 8 working weeks from start to finish!

Take a couple of 1960's home units with very basic finishes & services, but a magnificent setting. Create a brief which includes removing the main support wall in the bottom floor of a 5 storey apartment building, new bathrooms, kitchens, automated electrical systems and complete make-over to all finishes and surfaces.

Not difficult enough?

Well, add a requirement that all works are to be assessed and certified by two separate structural engineers - one as the project design engineer, and the other engaged to consult and evaluate the works on behalf of the Strata Manager and watchful Owners Committee - many of whom are owner-occupiers.
Throw in a heap of unexpected conditions such as concrete floors which have subsided significantly over the years and which will all require reinstatement to the original levels, a rising-damp problem in the rear room creating troublesome mould issues, an electrical system which was archaic, faulty and inadequate, additional design requirements to the original scope of works etc etc.
Include a stunning design-brief which includes recessed ceiling feature lighting incorporating all new dimmable LED strip-light technology, a fully automated electrical system to control lighting & motorised blinds etc, a state of the art  audio-visual system that Steven Spielberg would appreciate, bathroom fittings and tiles imported from Italy specifically for this project .... oh, and did we mention a 7-8 week construction schedule?
